Better Faith
I made a documentary on my childhood and the complex relationship I had with my mom from archival footage. Working on this documentary was nerve-wrecking to say the least – I had opened up conversations that have been shelved for years. There wasn’t a happy ending or a perfect resolution at the end of it, just the hard hitting reality that familial relationships are imperfect and love takes on many forms.
The Anatomy of Healing
I had the privilege of directing a documentary on a young adult, Nicole, who suffers from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). In this short doc, we explore Nicole’s journey of body acceptance in an age of unrealistic ideal body standards that are unachievable by most.
Lovesick
My crew and I reimagined Laufey’s Lovesick. By experimenting with shutter speed, lighting, and camera movement, we wanted to create a world where romance drives imagination even if it’s short-lived.
Eileen & Ernst
After a chance encounter with her grandfather (Ernst), Eileen rekindles her relationship with him over coffee. I was the cinematographer for this film and was also involved in gaffing, gripping and colour grading.
Farm to Dinner Table
To visually encapsulate that food has life and gives life, I utilised a mix of timelapses and stop motion animation that present a narrative on the farm to table movement. I used stop motion animation to capture the process of making a pizza and interlaced it with archival footage found online.
